 If you haven't already realized, I love me an award!!

So, clearly, you know I was very excited when Cherry Chanel awarded me this INSPIRING blog award! I know why she received it.....because she has inspirational fashion style! She is new to the blogging world, but is already one of my must reads!!  Go check her out.

Can I? Should I? Dare I mention him again?? OK, I have to say I have been inspired by.............none other than...........William Shatner.  Not because I have a crush on him and not because he was Captain Kirk. NO, I have been inspired by him because, although he totally lacks any singing talent, he will, without fear, sing on national TV and in front of anyone who will listen.  But not only that.....he has also had a recording contract and an album (which I own, of course). How can that not inspire you!!

My mother was and is a huge inspiration for me. She came from the poorest of backgrounds, born in a foreign country where girls were not appreciated, and her father was killed when she was just a little girl. Any one of these items could crush your spirit, but not my mother. She was strong and determined. She fought her way through the poverty and made her OWN way to America where she worked hard and long to build a life for herself and her family back home. She had no formal education, but was able to learn our language and work hard to give her daughters (yup, she had all girls) a rich life (both monetarily and through experiences). She was strict, but taught us to love each other, stick together, and be strong females. To her, women were definitely NOT the weaker sex and she instilled that in all of us. She died of cancer almost 3 years ago, but she continues to be a huge inspiration to me.

Oh yes, I do love an award.....especially if it's for me! Does that make me egotistic, narcissistic, vainglorious?? (Love that word by the way). I don't know, but I do love to get them. So, you can imagine how happy I was when Green Gracie Home bestowed upon me this award....................

Seven things about me: 

I have a huge crush on William Shatner. I have for years and I can't help myself. He is so much older than me, but I would totally sleep with him. Is that gross? Probably.

I lived in Nelson, New Zealand when I was 19 years old. Moved there on the spur of the moment with a New Zealand guy I met a month before. He took me and my son and I actually picked kiwi's from a tree.

I hardly EVER pay for a movie at the theaters. I cannot seem to get myself to do it. I know it's kind of like stealing, but I buy popcorn and sodas and that comes to $18.00. Isn't that enough to pay to go see a movie? I just walk in with a purpose, flash the ticket stubs I've had since 1997, and pick my seat. Is there any other way to do it?

 I will spend money I don't even have if it seems like I am getting a great bargain. Never mind that I don't need whatever it is, it's 80% off the regular price. Look how much money I'm saving................right?

I wanted to name my daughter either August or September, but every single person in my family vetoed it. What?? They're cute names, aren't they? Well, aren't they??

Partied a lot with Dave Krusen, the original drummer of Pearl Jam, back in my "groupie" stage.  Was completely in the "grunge scene" at its height and hung out with many aspiring bands. Live like a rock star when you're young, because it's too hard to do when you get older.

 I can eat an entire medium pizza hut pizza by myself. Now, I refrain from doing it most of the time due to the sheer amount of calories I would consume, but I can and I have and SO WHAT!! Sometimes, you just need to eat an entire pizza.

Fashion Blogger Award

Ooooh, how I love awards!!

Yea for me, I have been honored with a HAPPY award by C'est La Vie. If you have not been to her blog, click on that link and go, you will LOVE IT! It definitely makes ME happy and is a must read. Thank you!!!

So, I am to share 5 things that make me happy and then pass this on to 5 other bloggers that make me happy too!

My Daughter Taylor is ADORABLE and SWEET. She makes me so happy. She says the funniest things and can always brighten my day. And how sweet is she!!

My awesome son, Sean, his beautiful wife, Helena, and my VERY FIRST Grandchild, their son, Tegan! They are the perfect little family unit.

My husband. He is a wonderful father, a loving partner and super hardworking. He works hard so that I can stay home with our daughter. He is pretty close to perfect!

My totally failed garden. I love working in it and I can't wait to reap the rewards of my labor, but something is eating all of my plants (notice that ROTTEN slug in the pic!!!) and it is NOT a successful venture. But I love it anyways and I hope to figure it out!!

My 2 favorite purses. The Louis Vuitton, I use almost everyday. It is my go to purse and I love it. My Chanel is used only on special occasions, but I used it almost all the time this last fall. It is soooooo beautiful and luxurious and I feel like a million bucks when I use it.
